Live at Sports Discover Night at the Champion Center

Joe and Tosh attended Discovery Night at the Community First Champion Center, Tuesday September 26th, where they got to walk around and interview several awesome people who were representing their sports in the Fox Valley and trying to bring awareness and recruit athletes! The guys discover and learn that there are a lot of different sports in our area and so many options for youth and adults.

Every Kid Can Play While Discovering Sports

Tosh & Joe take a look inward at NEWSA themselves to discover how they give back to the youth of this community with Paul McCann and Matt Ten Haken who as the Sports Marketing Director of Fox Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau offers insight into the outreach that he is apart of and reminds us of the upcoming Sports Discovery Night on September 26th, 2023 at the Community First Champions Center.
We take An Old Look at NEW, play It's Forgotten and I'm Never Forgetten which leads to a Dave Matthews conversation and Throwback to 1996 when Robin Yount came to the Red Smith Banquet.

Good Call - A Conversation with Sports Officials

If you're good, you're not noticed and that's always the goal.  Being an official is a thankless passion, but a passion for sure.  Tosh and Joe take a deep dive into the who, what, why of being an official, as we have a conversation with officials: Jon Doden, Steve Liddell and Chad Roethlisberger. 
We continue to have fun with An Old Look at New and It's Forgotten and I'm Never Forgetten. The episode finishes off with a throwback to Jerry Markbreit, a legendary NFL Referee, who was the main speaker at the Red Smith Banquet in 1990.

Game On! FVL Coach Seth Jaeger talks Football, w/ LeRoy Butler Throwback

We sit down with Fox Valley Lutheran Head Football Coach Seth Jaeger and discuss his journey from youth sports, to high school, to college at Martin Luther College, to teaching and coaching. We delve into some of the beliefs and values he holds as a coach, while taking a look at the FVL's most anticipated game of the year, The Apple Bowl, where they face their long rivals Xavier for the annual Apple Bowl Title Champion!

Talking Outdoors with Tim Landwehr of Tight Lines Fly Shop and Ryan Marx

This week we spent some time at Tight Lines Fly Shop to talk with Tim Landwehr about fly fishing and the great outdoors.
 
We first sit down with Ryan Marx and discuss the Appleton East Korey Fischer Outdoor Club.  Ryan leads us through the amazing opportunities that high school students have getting equipment so they can experience the outdoors hunting and fishing.
 
Tim Landwehr talks about his start in fly fishing growing up in Wisconsin.  Packing up his life and leaving for the big sky country of Montana. Meeting his wife and heading back to open a Fly Shop in De Pere which celebrated its 22 anniversary.  We also get to hear about his involvement with saving the Menomonie River with the amazing group the Menomonie Coalition.
 
We end the episode with a throwback to Goose Gossage one of the first true closers in baseball. Goose appeared at the 2013 Red Smith Sports Award Banquet in Appleton Wisconsin.
